What do you really want?

Adyashanti puts it best when he says, “The most important thing is to find out what is the most important thing.” Another way to say this is that clarifying what you want from your practice is vital. Do you want access to bliss states? Do you want better concentration in daily life? Do you want a calmer mind? Or do you want the understanding called enlightenment? Meditation has a variety of purposes so it really helps to understand what you want. It makes getting it much more likely.
There’s a degree to which the universe conspires to gives you what you want, so it’s definitely a good idea to find out what that might be. At the very least you will be less surprised when it happens.
